CHARIOT PATH
(According to legends, this place is known as the road where King Ravana's chariot traveled.)
A very beautiful valley, a land like a field without tall
trees. It is correct to say that it is a land that is very similar to Horton.
This mountain range where Ravana's cart road is located is located in Nuwara
Eliya district. More than 2100 meters above sea level. On one side you can see
Piduruthalagala Reserve, Kothmale Oya on the other side, Hewaheta Hunguranketa
area, Sri Padaya, Piduruthalagala, Kikiliyamana, Single Tree, Peacock Hill,
Kothmale, Greatweston, Rikilagaskada, Kukulagala Randenigala Reservoir,
Dolosbage hills and many other areas. Chariot path is a place with such a wide
scene. In this area, which belongs to the dense tropical rain forest of the
humid zone, you can see several types of plants that are not found in any other
part of Sri Lanka. This area is like a big road surrounded by bushes that have
decreased in height and is empty in the middle. Maybe that's why Chari also
goes here. According to legends, this place is known as the road where King
Ravana's chariot traveled. Like a road, trees do not grow in only one
region. There are only trees like small
bushes around. Some people also consider this place to be the airport where
King Ravana's flightless plane landed. Another legend mentions that it is a
place where King Ravana brought Sita to show the beauty of Lanka Pura. There is
one corner of this plain. A ditch filled
with water. This is also related to
history. This is called Sita Pond. Some people believe that it was created from
Sita's tears. The villagers also say
that this pond does not sit in any dry season.
The wide and beautiful scenery that can be seen from below,
the coolness that you can feel when the clouds are coming from far away, the
valley that is full of blue, and the sky that is full of blue color, create a
kind of beauty that you can't take your eyes off. When you look from a little below, you can
see a scene as if the green grass field and the blue sky have come together,
all this brings to the eyes a beauty that cannot be described in words.
